Narrative:
We were tasked to replace the right side stick handle due to a sticking microphone switch. We replaced the handle and performed the appropriate operations check. We could not find anywhere that it stated that the replacement of the handle alone was an FAA required inspection item. The replacement of the whole assembly was an FAA required inspection item. It mentions hydrolines and cannon plugs. We removed none of these. We were also told that it would be mentioned at the end of the task if it was in fact an FAA required inspection item by maintenance control. It was not mentioned in the task. The removes and replacement of the handle consisted of 2 pairs of hex head bolts wired in pairs. After removal of bolts, handle came right off. Installation was just as straight forward. The handle has 2 hard connectors ('D' connectors). (Microphone and priority selection.)
