Narrative:
Approaching dietz intersection on CQY5 arrival into dfw, approach issued instructions to descend to 10000 ft, and slow to 210 KTS. I acknowledged 10000 ft, 210 KTS. Captain was off radio conducting landing PA. When he retuned to radio, I asked did you copy the latest from ATC? He said no, and we both decided to call ATC to confirm altitude. When asked, approach responded 'we need you at 11000 ft,' at which time I initiated an immediate climb to 11000 ft got a TA, and approach said that the traffic was held down to 9000 ft.
