Narrative:
On aug/tue/03, seatback was removed for sheared and bent arms on seatback, deferred item DF-X was made, reference MEL 2525C. Ipc references were listed, and parts needed for repair were listed in text of DF-X, parts were in stock at stores in ZZZ1, aircraft returned to ZZZ on aug/sat/03, parts had not been routed to aircraft and placed in leave-on-board box. Removed seatback from leave-on-board box on aug/sat/03 and routed to repair shop for repairs. Back should not have been removed from leave-on-board box and routed to shop without a cdl reference. Company does not have any reference for air traffic area chapter 25. Called maintenance controller before back was routed to shop.

Narrative: ON AUG/TUE/03, SEATBACK WAS REMOVED FOR SHEARED AND BENT ARMS ON SEATBACK, DEFERRED ITEM DF-X WAS MADE, REF MEL 2525C. IPC REFS WERE LISTED, AND PARTS NEEDED FOR REPAIR WERE LISTED IN TEXT OF DF-X, PARTS WERE IN STOCK AT STORES IN ZZZ1, ACFT RETURNED TO ZZZ ON AUG/SAT/03, PARTS HAD NOT BEEN ROUTED TO ACFT AND PLACED IN LEAVE-ON-BOARD BOX. REMOVED SEATBACK FROM LEAVE-ON-BOARD BOX ON AUG/SAT/03 AND ROUTED TO REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS. BACK SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM LEAVE-ON-BOARD BOX AND ROUTED TO SHOP WITHOUT A CDL REF.
