Narrative:
In process of departure from tus airport with flight of 3 experimental aircraft, given runway heading, my aircraft had a failure of landing gear circuit breaker requiring manual retraction during which time I veered off course by 15 degrees (110 degree departure, 095 degree heading on near miss). I saw the other aircraft as he also saw me and we both steered in opposite directions (as tower also informed us of each other). I feel this would not have happened had I not been distraction by the manual retraction of my landing gear.

Title: PLT OF 1 OF 3 EXPERIMENTAL ACFT BECOMES DISTR WITH LNDG GEAR PROB AND HAS LOSS OF SEPARATION DURING DEP FROM TUS.
Narrative: IN PROCESS OF DEP FROM TUS ARPT WITH FLT OF 3 EXPERIMENTAL ACFT, GIVEN RWY HDG, MY ACFT HAD A FAILURE OF LNDG GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER REQUIRING MANUAL RETRACTION DURING WHICH TIME I VEERED OFF COURSE BY 15 DEGS (110 DEG DEP, 095 DEG HDG ON NEAR MISS). I SAW THE OTHER ACFT AS HE ALSO SAW ME AND WE BOTH STEERED IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS (AS TWR ALSO INFORMED US OF EACH OTHER). I FEEL THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED HAD I NOT BEEN DISTR BY THE MANUAL RETRACTION OF MY LNDG GEAR.
