Narrative:

Full flight, short 2 flight attendants. Narrow body, transcontinental flight. 2 flight attendants were very busy with their meal service for 152 or so passenger in coach. 2 teenage girls (according to surrounding witnesses) loud, foul-mouthed, vulgar, sexual innuendo, hostile, rude and intimidating when asked to please stop. Kicked back of seat, threw food and spit balls. Most disrespectful and rudest display ever witnessed by parents of teenage girls. Reduced passenger to tears. They began hitting each other and crew members were called to separate them. Verbally assaulted passenger nearby and crew members. Company operations were called by pilots, who found local policeman and trainees who were not busy, to meet the flight and escort the girls to baggage claim to meet the parents to let them know their daughter's behavior is unacceptable. We were working with FAA minimum crew of 4 flight attendants. But for the length of flight and level of service my company assigns 6 flight attendants. Passenger tried to handle the situation, but it got out of hand by the sheer disrespect and rudeness of the 2 very immature girls. If the 2 flight attendants weren't so busy with their food/beverage service they would have stepped in much earlier before surrounding passenger were all verbally assaulted and covered with spit balls. Since the incident occurred in the forward portion of coach, a first class flight attendant was first notified of the continuing incident. When the girls fought with each other, the flight attendant separated them. The girls started the verbal abuse in the beginning of the flight and flight attendants were not notified until the last 1/3 of the flight. Once separated, all was quiet. Having the police meet the flight was perfect to enforce the seriousness of their actions and to make sure the parents were aware of their children's unacceptable behavior.
