Narrative:
We were vectored through the final approach course for ILS runway 35C at dfw. When re-intercepting the localizer for the ILS runway 35C at dfw approach, we went through the course, and may have been off-scale for a couple of seconds corrected immediately, and flew normal approach on course and landed normally. Discussed scenario with the first officer (PF) and suggested a slower approach speed would probably be a better plan on future approachs.

Title: A DC9 FLT CREW IS VECTORED THROUGH THE FINAL APCH COURSE. THEN THEY INADVERTENTLY GO THROUGH THE FINAL APCH COURSE WITH A POSSIBLE FULL SCALE DEFLECTION UPON RETURN.
Narrative: WE WERE VECTORED THROUGH THE FINAL APCH COURSE FOR ILS RWY 35C AT DFW. WHEN RE-INTERCEPTING THE LOC FOR THE ILS RWY 35C AT DFW APCH, WE WENT THROUGH THE COURSE, AND MAY HAVE BEEN OFF-SCALE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY, AND FLEW NORMAL APCH ON COURSE AND LANDED NORMALLY. DISCUSSED SCENARIO WITH THE FO (PF) AND SUGGESTED A SLOWER APCH SPD WOULD PROBABLY BE A BETTER PLAN ON FUTURE APCHS.
