Narrative:
Flight phx to atl. Aircraft was late arriving and got aircraft out on time. Captain pulled up pre departure clearance on ACARS and reviewed it. After doing my walk around, I reviewed the pre departure clearance, and we both missed the departure change from the maximum to departure procedure to the sjn 3 departure procedure. After takeoff, we queried ATC about a vector, and we were informed of the change. By the time we made our turn, we were 4 my beyond the SJ3 initial turn point. No airspace or traffic conflicts were involved.
