Narrative:
While being radar vectored onto the downwind to runway 36R at 9000 ft MSL in charlotte, we momentarily encountered severe turbulence from the wake of a preceding B737-400. We made the report to ATC about the encounter. We landed with no further incident and after a thorough postflt inspection by both me and my captain, we made an entry in the adl about the encounter with severe turbulence.
