Narrative:
After the agent pulled the jetbridge and the crew was ready for departure the captain checked in with the ground crew to call for release the brakes and push. The ground crew informed us that a fuel truck had hooked up to the aircraft. Dispatch had added additional fuel to the release and had tried to send us a message but the ACARS printer was broken (jammed), so we didn't see the message or acknowledge it. The captain immediately called the ground crew and had the fueling stopped and called ramp to recall the agent. Supplemental information from acn 595852: I checked in with the ground crew who informed me that a fuel truck had just pulled up to the aircraft and was fueling the plane. I immediately told them to get the truck off and stop fueling and called ramp to have the agent return to put the bridge on the plane. Apparently dispatch had sent a message over ACARS to add an additional 1300 pounds of fuel. We had no way of knowing that a fuel truck was going to hook up to the plane after the agent took the bridge off.

Title: A BREACH OF FARS AND COMPANY POLICY WHEN GND CREW IS ABOUT TO FUEL A B737 PAX FLT WITH THE JETBRIDGE AWAY FROM THE ACFT AT ORD, IL.
Narrative: AFTER THE AGENT PULLED THE JETBRIDGE AND THE CREW WAS READY FOR DEP THE CAPT CHKED IN WITH THE GND CREW TO CALL FOR RELEASE THE BRAKES AND PUSH. THE GND CREW INFORMED US THAT A FUEL TRUCK HAD HOOKED UP TO THE ACFT. DISPATCH HAD ADDED ADDITIONAL FUEL TO THE RELEASE AND HAD TRIED TO SEND US A MESSAGE BUT THE ACARS PRINTER WAS BROKEN (JAMMED), SO WE DIDN'T SEE THE MESSAGE OR ACKNOWLEDGE IT. THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE GND CREW AND HAD THE FUELING STOPPED AND CALLED RAMP TO RECALL THE AGENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 595852: I CHKED IN WITH THE GND CREW WHO INFORMED ME THAT A FUEL TRUCK HAD JUST PULLED UP TO THE ACFT AND WAS FUELING THE PLANE. I IMMEDIATELY TOLD THEM TO GET THE TRUCK OFF AND STOP FUELING AND CALLED RAMP TO HAVE THE AGENT RETURN TO PUT THE BRIDGE ON THE PLANE. APPARENTLY DISPATCH HAD SENT A MESSAGE OVER ACARS TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL 1300 LBS OF FUEL. WE HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT A FUEL TRUCK WAS GOING TO HOOK UP TO THE PLANE AFTER THE AGENT TOOK THE BRIDGE OFF.
