Narrative:
We departed bos with a full airplane, 144 passenger, and all 4 flight attendant jump seats occupied. This was our final leg of a 4 day trip. Upon arrival at the gate in phl, we had shut down the engines and were doing our parking checklist. The 'a' flight attendant entered the cockpit and told us she wanted to 'fess up.' she proceeded to explain that before departing bos, a non revenue flight attendant got up from her coach seat to use the bathroom. She returned to her eat to find it occupied by a revenue passenger. We had already shut the passenger boarding door, the 'a' flight attendant told her to 'ride in the bathroom for takeoff and landing.' the captain questioned her thinking. The 'a' flight attendant's response was 'I realize I made an error in judgement. I didn't want to spend the extra time taxiing back to the bos gate to drop her off. I didn't want to miss my connection home!' captain said she wanted to speak to the stow away, but she had already deplaned!
