Narrative:
Error arose during diversion from frr. WX became turbulent over mountains. To avoid turbulence, as ceiling was low, diverted back to manassas. After turn towards manassas, I reassessed position as I was not familiar with entering ADIZ from this angle. I discovered I had already penetrated ADIZ. My flight path had progressed further east than anticipated. Once I idented I was inside the ADIZ, I immediately took corrective action to notify potomac approach. Pct acknowledged and asked my intentions. I requested position verification and vectoring to cjr. Pct gave me a heading of 200 degrees to cjr. My flight path took me along route 29 which I was unable to identify, and pct gave me the option of hef or nyg. Requested hef for flight termination as it was closest field. ADIZ plan for re-entry was on file with FSS for XB30Z from csn. Above incident occurred XA30Z. Future preventive action would include ensuring flight path gives ADIZ wider berth, contacting pct sooner, monitoring pct frequency longer when close to ADIZ.

Title: AFTER DEPARTING THE DC ADIZ ON A FLT TO FRR, THIS C152 PLT ENCOUNTERED WX AND TURB WHICH CAUSED THE PLT TO RE-ENTER THE ADIZ WITHOUT A CLRNC.
Narrative: ERROR AROSE DURING DIVERSION FROM FRR. WX BECAME TURBULENT OVER MOUNTAINS. TO AVOID TURB, AS CEILING WAS LOW, DIVERTED BACK TO MANASSAS. AFTER TURN TOWARDS MANASSAS, I REASSESSED POS AS I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH ENTERING ADIZ FROM THIS ANGLE. I DISCOVERED I HAD ALREADY PENETRATED ADIZ. MY FLT PATH HAD PROGRESSED FURTHER E THAN ANTICIPATED. ONCE I IDENTED I WAS INSIDE THE ADIZ, I IMMEDIATELY TOOK CORRECTIVE ACTION TO NOTIFY POTOMAC APCH. PCT ACKNOWLEDGED AND ASKED MY INTENTIONS. I REQUESTED POS VERIFICATION AND VECTORING TO CJR. PCT GAVE ME A HDG OF 200 DEGS TO CJR. MY FLT PATH TOOK ME ALONG RTE 29 WHICH I WAS UNABLE TO IDENT, AND PCT GAVE ME THE OPTION OF HEF OR NYG. REQUESTED HEF FOR FLT TERMINATION AS IT WAS CLOSEST FIELD. ADIZ PLAN FOR RE-ENTRY WAS ON FILE WITH FSS FOR XB30Z FROM CSN. ABOVE INCIDENT OCCURRED XA30Z. FUTURE PREVENTIVE ACTION WOULD INCLUDE ENSURING FLT PATH GIVES ADIZ WIDER BERTH, CONTACTING PCT SOONER, MONITORING PCT FREQ LONGER WHEN CLOSE TO ADIZ.
