Narrative:
Arriving at operations in sbgr, the first officer and myself compared the passenger manifest provided, with the generator declaration to assure they were identical, which they were. After departure, we learned that the person they had as deadheading (a captain on sick) was not on board. To make matters worse, there was some other person deadheading that we did not know of. One of our flight attendants got the correct name and made changes to all generator declaration. There are numerous notices about fines caused by erroneous generator declaration. How can this happen? It bothers me greatly, that we don't even know who are on our planes. Why is this happening, and what must be done to stop this from happening again and again. I believe it was #1 flight attendant who found these errors and made the corrections. She should be given a bonus for saving us thousands of dollars in additional fines.
