Narrative:
En route between mhv to rnm via L70, transitioning north of sna below the floor of class C airspace at approximately 9 mi nne of sna. Possible airspace intrusion into sna class C airspace at boundary between 2000-3500 ft floor of the north central and northeast portion of outer ring. While in cruise flight at 1900 ft MSL in the north central outer ring of sna class C airspace and in the process of determining that I was clear of the disneyland tfr and trying to locate the center of the tfr on the los angeles sectional, los angeles inset (neither of which depicts disneyland), I inadvertently climbed to 2300 ft by which time I was within the northeast section of the class C which has a floor of 3500 ft MSL. I may have entered the class C near the border of the 2000-3500 ft floor, but by the time I noticed, I was well within the northeast section of sna. Because this tfr was not near my intended route, I had no graphical tfr map, only a text version of fdc 3/2123, and had not briefed this tfr. Quickly identifiable text information and depiction of disneyland on the sectional would reduce the recognition time especially during single pilot operations.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN AS350 B3 PLT ACCIDENTALLY PENETRATES THE FLOOR OF THE CLASS C AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC WHEN 9 NM NNE OF SNA, CA.
Narrative: ENRTE BTWN MHV TO RNM VIA L70, TRANSITIONING N OF SNA BELOW THE FLOOR OF CLASS C AIRSPACE AT APPROX 9 MI NNE OF SNA. POSSIBLE AIRSPACE INTRUSION INTO SNA CLASS C AIRSPACE AT BOUNDARY BTWN 2000-3500 FT FLOOR OF THE NORTH CENTRAL AND NE PORTION OF OUTER RING. WHILE IN CRUISE FLT AT 1900 FT MSL IN THE NORTH CENTRAL OUTER RING OF SNA CLASS C AIRSPACE AND IN THE PROCESS OF DETERMINING THAT I WAS CLR OF THE DISNEYLAND TFR AND TRYING TO LOCATE THE CTR OF THE TFR ON THE LOS ANGELES SECTIONAL, LOS ANGELES INSET (NEITHER OF WHICH DEPICTS DISNEYLAND), I INADVERTENTLY CLBED TO 2300 FT BY WHICH TIME I WAS WITHIN THE NE SECTION OF THE CLASS C WHICH HAS A FLOOR OF 3500 FT MSL. I MAY HAVE ENTERED THE CLASS C NEAR THE BORDER OF THE 2000-3500 FT FLOOR, BUT BY THE TIME I NOTICED, I WAS WELL WITHIN THE NE SECTION OF SNA. BECAUSE THIS TFR WAS NOT NEAR MY INTENDED RTE, I HAD NO GRAPHICAL TFR MAP, ONLY A TEXT VERSION OF FDC 3/2123, AND HAD NOT BRIEFED THIS TFR. QUICKLY IDENTIFIABLE TEXT INFO AND DEPICTION OF DISNEYLAND ON THE SECTIONAL WOULD REDUCE THE RECOGNITION TIME ESPECIALLY DURING SINGLE PLT OPS.
