Narrative:
At FL330 we were informed by ZDV of reported light-moderate turbulence ahead below FL200. We seated the passenger and informed the flight attendants to ready the cabin. At FL240 the captain advised the flight attendants to take their jumpseats. At FL210 we entered IMC and immediately hit heavy moderate turbulence. The aircraft experienced 2 pronounced up-down motions. I called the purser to ascertain any injuries, and she informed me that both aft flight attendants were down on the floor apparently injured. The aft flight attendants would not answer their call button. The purser went aft and reported that 1 flight attendant had apparently broken her left ankle and the other had hurt her rear end and back. We declared a medical emergency and proceeded to land runway 35L at den. Paramedics met us at the gate and transported both flight attendants to the hospital.
