Narrative:

During climb on the fll 9 departure, thunder transition, at approximately 1600 ft, the first officer's EFIS pfd went blank and the first officer's navigation display picked up the signal, flashed several times and went blank. Simultaneously, an acrid electrical burning smell entered the cockpit. We turned off the first officer pfd and navigation display, then pulled the associated circuit breakers. The smell subsided after approximately 5 mins. We declared an emergency and diverted to miami for our overweight landing. The landing was uneventful. We had ground crash fire rescue equipment confirm no smoke and had them follow us to the gate. Passenger were briefed and disembarked uneventfully upon gate arrival.
