Narrative:
Started when release for flight was not on time, and then when it did arrive it was incorrect. I, as the captain, spent the entire time prior to departure correcting the release. The FMS matched the filed flight plan except for 2 waypoints on the qball 6 arrival into stl. I did not notice these points being missing until ATC notified me that my flight plan showed the bna transition and not direct cgi as we were flying. The points that were deleted were visqa and scrch. The clearance portion of the universal FMS looked exactly like the clearance portions of the dispatch release. The need for xchking the FMS flight plan with the published procedure is not a part of our training or procedures.

Title: AN EMB-145 FLT CREW FAILED TO VERIFY ROUTING ENTERED INTO THE FMS RESULTING IN A COURSE DEV.
Narrative: STARTED WHEN RELEASE FOR FLT WAS NOT ON TIME, AND THEN WHEN IT DID ARRIVE IT WAS INCORRECT. I, AS THE CAPT, SPENT THE ENTIRE TIME PRIOR TO DEP CORRECTING THE RELEASE.
