Narrative:
After landing at sfo, we taxied to gate and stopped on taxiway a awaiting repositioning of jetways (3-5 mins) until guide man signaled ok to come in to gate. We taxied in slowly up until guide man slowly gave signal to stop at what appeared to be normal stop point. We shut down right engine and awaited ground power to be attached. Almost immediately we heard chugging sounds. No abnormal engine indications, but we immediately shut down left engine and waited in the dark while the APU came up to speed and restored power and lights to the aircraft. When we finally got someone on the ground interphone, he informed us that the left engine sucked the ground aircraft hose into the engine. Supplemental information from acn 600207: as we approached gate, we noticed the jetways were out of position and the guide man was waiting for something. After talking with ramp, they informed us that the jetways were out of problem and that they would have them repositioned soon. After maybe 5 mins we received guidance from a guide man. After we set the parking brake and were awaiting ground power to shut down #1 engine, we felt a strong vibration on the left side and decided to shut down #1 engine. We later discovered that the external air conditioning tube had been ingested in the engine.

Title: A B767-300 CREW HAD THE #1 ENG SUCK UP A GND AIR CONDITIONING HOSE WHILE BEING MARSHALED TO THE GATE.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG AT SFO, WE TAXIED TO GATE AND STOPPED ON TXWY A AWAITING REPOSITIONING OF JETWAYS (3-5 MINS) UNTIL GUIDE MAN SIGNALED OK TO COME IN TO GATE. WE TAXIED IN SLOWLY UP UNTIL GUIDE MAN SLOWLY GAVE SIGNAL TO STOP AT WHAT APPEARED TO BE NORMAL STOP POINT. WE SHUT DOWN R ENG AND AWAITED GND PWR TO BE ATTACHED. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WE HEARD CHUGGING SOUNDS. NO ABNORMAL ENG INDICATIONS, BUT WE IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN L ENG AND WAITED IN THE DARK WHILE THE APU CAME UP TO SPD AND RESTORED PWR AND LIGHTS TO THE ACFT. WHEN WE FINALLY GOT SOMEONE ON THE GND INTERPHONE, HE INFORMED US THAT THE L ENG SUCKED THE GND ACFT HOSE INTO THE ENG. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 600207: AS WE APCHED GATE, WE NOTICED THE JETWAYS WERE OUT OF POS AND THE GUIDE MAN WAS WAITING FOR SOMETHING. AFTER TALKING WITH RAMP, THEY INFORMED US THAT THE JETWAYS WERE OUT OF PROB AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THEM REPOSITIONED SOON. AFTER MAYBE 5 MINS WE RECEIVED GUIDANCE FROM A GUIDE MAN.
