Narrative:
On takeoff, after raising the landing gear handle, we received an unsafe up indication. We completed the procedures on MFDU followed by the procedures in the operating manual. We contacted maintenance over the radio and they agreed all procedures that we could do were completed. We returned back to ord with an uneventful landing. On postflt, a broken rod was noticed hanging from gear assembly.
