Narrative:
Descending into sju, pitch black night, an area of light precipitation was observed on radar off the northwest coast of puerto rico. Turned on seatbelt sign. Descending through 16000 ft and before reaching precipitation area, we entered some clouds and had a 2 second turbulence encounter. Intensity of it did not seem all that bad up front. However, a couple of mins later, received a call from the back that flight attendant and passenger may have been injured. Had medics meet the flight on arrival into sju. Passenger was of much greater concern having just undergone major cancer surgery. She was in the aft lavatory and had been thrown against the sink and was concerned about her sutures. Decision was made to transport her to the hospital for precautionary x-rays. Flight attendant requested to be allowed to go to the hotel, remain overnight, and deadhead back to base the next morning for medical attention.
