Narrative:

I was captain of flight from iad to cvg. While at cruise flight, I excused myself from the cockpit to use the aircraft lavatory. The flight attendant was summoned to the flight deck as per operations procedure to resecure cockpit door from inside. When I returned to the flight deck, the flight attendant and first officer informed me that the flight attendant had initiated a descent of the aircraft under the first officer's supervision. The autoplt was engaged at the time. The company was notified of this infraction by myself, the captain.
