Narrative:
The event occurred while on a flight from ral to lgb. Shortly after departing riverside we obtained radar coverage from socal and requested runway 25R at lgb. Eventually we were instructed to contact los alamitos tower on 123.85 which we did and we were cleared through their airspace. As we approached the 605 freeway, we reported to los alamitos tower that we were approaching the 605 freeway. They instructed us to contact long beach tower, which we did. After landing on the rollout, the tower controller said he would be giving us a number to call and that he needed us to report sooner than we did. I explained that we had been handed off by los alamitos tower and he said that lgb doesn't' accept handoffs from los alamitos or socal. I said ok, taxied off the runway, contacted ground, and taxied to the ramp and tied the airplane down. Never heard anything else.

Title: C172 LNDG LGB IS LATE IN CONTACTING TWR AFTER TRANSITIONING ADJACENT AIRSPACE.
Narrative: THE EVENT OCCURRED WHILE ON A FLT FROM RAL TO LGB. SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTING RIVERSIDE WE OBTAINED RADAR COVERAGE FROM SOCAL AND REQUESTED RWY 25R AT LGB. EVENTUALLY WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT LOS ALAMITOS TWR ON 123.85 WHICH WE DID AND WE WERE CLRED THROUGH THEIR AIRSPACE. AS WE APCHED THE 605 FREEWAY, WE RPTED TO LOS ALAMITOS TWR THAT WE WERE APCHING THE 605 FREEWAY. THEY INSTRUCTED US TO CONTACT LONG BEACH TWR, WHICH WE DID. AFTER LNDG ON THE ROLLOUT, THE TWR CTLR SAID HE WOULD BE GIVING US A NUMBER TO CALL AND THAT HE NEEDED US TO RPT SOONER THAN WE DID. I EXPLAINED THAT WE HAD BEEN HANDED OFF BY LOS ALAMITOS TWR AND HE SAID THAT LGB DOESN'T' ACCEPT HDOFS FROM LOS ALAMITOS OR SOCAL. I SAID OK, TAXIED OFF THE RWY, CONTACTED GND, AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP AND TIED THE AIRPLANE DOWN. NEVER HEARD ANYTHING ELSE.
