Narrative:
At the beginning of trip, while doing the walkaround at the first flight of the day, I remember checking the aircraft tires. I did not notice any gear pins flag hanging, and failed to visually verify the gear pin hole. As PF, I started to focus on the flight ahead. We completed all the checklists. After takeoff, I noticed the landing gear would not come up. Then I realized I did not verify the gear pins had been removed, and could have been our problem. We came back to the field and landed with no further problem. Now I realized my complacency and mistake cost the company money, the passenger a 40 min delay, and a great deal of embarrassment to all.
