Narrative:
We departed runway 1 at teb, cleared for the teb 5 departure, lanna transition. At 400 ft, I turned to the 040 degree heading and put the plane in autoplt, with a selected altitude of 2000 ft. I pulled power back to 'mct,' but should have pulled it back more. Because the jet was overpwred, it exceeded the altitude by 500 ft, and I reached an airspeed of 280 KTS. I immediately pulled power and pushed the nose down. Departure ATC then cleared me to a higher altitude. We have TCASII and there was no incursion. I believe I had gotten too accustomed to high power departures and had not properly briefed this particular departure on the ground. Ways to prevent a future occurrence: 1) training (this is a good scenario for flight safety, where I train, and I will suggest it to them). 2) appropriate crew brief before departure. 3) watch power and speed more carefully on all departures.

Title: SMT CREW OVERSHOT THE ALT LIMIT LISTED ON THE TEB 5 SID.
Narrative: WE DEPARTED RWY 1 AT TEB, CLRED FOR THE TEB 5 DEP, LANNA TRANSITION. AT 400 FT, I TURNED TO THE 040 DEG HDG AND PUT THE PLANE IN AUTOPLT, WITH A SELECTED ALT OF 2000 FT. I PULLED PWR BACK TO 'MCT,' BUT SHOULD HAVE PULLED IT BACK MORE. BECAUSE THE JET WAS OVERPWRED, IT EXCEEDED THE ALT BY 500 FT, AND I REACHED AN AIRSPD OF 280 KTS. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED PWR AND PUSHED THE NOSE DOWN. DEP ATC THEN CLRED ME TO A HIGHER ALT. WE HAVE TCASII AND THERE WAS NO INCURSION. I BELIEVE I HAD GOTTEN TOO ACCUSTOMED TO HIGH PWR DEPS AND HAD NOT PROPERLY BRIEFED THIS PARTICULAR DEP ON THE GND. WAYS TO PREVENT A FUTURE OCCURRENCE: 1) TRAINING (THIS IS A GOOD SCENARIO FOR FLT SAFETY, WHERE I TRAIN, AND I WILL SUGGEST IT TO THEM). 2) APPROPRIATE CREW BRIEF BEFORE DEP. 3) WATCH PWR AND SPD MORE CAREFULLY ON ALL DEPS.
