Narrative:

Just after checking with bur tower (118.7) and receiving our landing clearance, descending from 3000 ft at approximately 2700 ft, we received a TA (monitor vertical speed) and almost immediately an RA (climb), showing traffic at zero altitude deviation and climbing. We climbed to approximately 3050 ft and turned 20 degrees to the right to avoid the collision. After that, we started our descent and landed on runway 8 with no further incident. Supplemental information from acn 604547: received a TA 'monitor vertical speed.' looked to determine location of threat and saw it was reported at zero altitude difference, climbing, to immediate 9 O'clock position. In that approximately 2 seconds, received an RA commanding a climb. I initiated a climb (approximately 350 ft) and approximately 20 degree right turn while looking out the left side. A light single engine cessna passed just below and aft.

Title: B737-300 CREW AND A SINGLE ENG CESSNA HAD AN NMAC GOING INTO BUR.

Narrative: JUST AFTER CHKING WITH BUR TWR (118.7) AND RECEIVING OUR LNDG CLRNC, DSNDING FROM 3000 FT AT APPROX 2700 FT, WE RECEIVED A TA (MONITOR VERT SPD) AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AN RA (CLB), SHOWING TFC AT ZERO ALTDEV AND CLBING. WE CLBED TO APPROX 3050 FT AND TURNED 20 DEGS TO THE R TO AVOID THE COLLISION. AFTER THAT, WE STARTED OUR DSCNT AND LANDED ON RWY 8 WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 604547: RECEIVED A TA 'MONITOR VERT SPD.' LOOKED TO DETERMINE LOCATION OF THREAT AND SAW IT WAS RPTED AT ZERO ALT DIFFERENCE, CLBING, TO IMMEDIATE 9 O'CLOCK POS. IN THAT APPROX 2 SECONDS, RECEIVED AN RA COMMANDING A CLB. I INITIATED A CLB (APPROX 350 FT) AND APPROX 20 DEG R TURN WHILE LOOKING OUT THE L SIDE. A LIGHT SINGLE ENG CESSNA PASSED JUST BELOW AND AFT.
