Narrative:
Inbound write-up, 'left aft boost pump on, backgnd light burned out.' could not order master module to fix problem. No parts. Tried to order control panel. No part numbers would cross to company numbers. Used base part number and it crossed to a company number, had 4 in stock. Ordered 1 and installed on aircraft. Turned out all 4 parts in stock did not have the extra xfeed valve. Had no messages and no faults at time of installation. At pushback time, pilot had message that would not clear, 'forward xfeed.' found on new panel no forward xfeed button (push switch). Put unsvcable control panel back in aircraft and MEL'ed the backgnd light and released aircraft. Problem being one aircraft X unique to this part. No spares and 4 other parts that crossed part numbers to fit that aircraft and should not have!
