Narrative:
Departure from ZZZ, passing 11000-12000 ft, received fire warning indication on #3 engine. Performed phase ones and requested vectors back to ZZZ to land. With throttle at idle, fire indications were intermittent, no secondaries, and fire detection fault #3 was indicated. (Fire detection loop was deferred on #3 and had a long history of problems.) engine was not shut down. Uneventful return land at ZZZ. Fire trucks inspected engine after touchdown. No apparent fire, no FARS violated.
