Narrative:
Flight over ursus en route to lima returned to mia due to an antiskid problem. The antiskid overhead message and associated EICAS message illuminated, followed by the status messages alternate antiskid and normal antiskid. Dispatch and maintenance control were notified, as this was a repeat item (3 write-ups). A decision was made to return to mia. During descent into mia, all antiskid warnings disappeared. An overweight landing was made at 223000 pounds. The aircraft was landed normally with a smooth touchdown (runway 27L) and minimal braking. I elected to declare an emergency only as a precaution. The decision to return was based on the lack of parts in lim and the penalty (over 31000 pounds) for an inoperative antiskid takeoff.

Title: A B757 FLT CREW AFTER DEP FROM MIA, RECEIVE AN EICAS MESSAGE THAT THEY HAD AN ANTISKID OVERHEAT. THEY DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO MIA.
Narrative: FLT OVER URSUS ENRTE TO LIMA RETURNED TO MIA DUE TO AN ANTISKID PROB. THE ANTISKID OVERHEAD MESSAGE AND ASSOCIATED EICAS MESSAGE ILLUMINATED, FOLLOWED BY THE STATUS MESSAGES ALTERNATE ANTISKID AND NORMAL ANTISKID. DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL WERE NOTIFIED, AS THIS WAS A REPEAT ITEM (3 WRITE-UPS). A DECISION WAS MADE TO RETURN TO MIA. DURING DSCNT INTO MIA, ALL ANTISKID WARNINGS DISAPPEARED. AN OVERWT LNDG WAS MADE AT 223000 LBS. THE ACFT WAS LANDED NORMALLY WITH A SMOOTH TOUCHDOWN (RWY 27L) AND MINIMAL BRAKING. I ELECTED TO DECLARE AN EMER ONLY AS A PRECAUTION. THE DECISION TO RETURN WAS BASED ON THE LACK OF PARTS IN LIM AND THE PENALTY (OVER 31000 LBS) FOR AN INOP ANTISKID TKOF.
