Narrative:
Passenger in coach approached forward part of aircraft when first officer was out of cockpit and insisted that first officer explain bathroom/lavatory policy immediately. He was agitated and spoke in loud voice for first class passenger behind him to hear. Was asked 3 times by first officer to situation down after explaining policy to him. But he (the passenger) remained by cockpit, extremely upset. I kept my hand on coffee pot ready to throw at passenger if he came any closer to cockpit area or made move on the first officer. Very belligerent passenger behavior! Later, noticed on paperwork that passenger did not get his first class upgrade, so probably boarded aircraft already upset. Not having some sort of divider between first class and coach (where curtain used to be) is causing many problems as well as having only 4 flight attendants working flight this long and full! Should've been 5 flight attendants.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737 FLT ATTENDANT POINTED OUT THAT THE ABSENCE OF THE CURTAIN DIVIDING FIRST CLASS FROM COACH HAS CAUSED A NUMBER OF PROBS FOR FLT ATTENDANTS AS WELL AS THE REDUCTION IN THE NUMBER OF THE FLT ATTENDANT CREW ASSIGNED TO THIS ACFT. PRIMARY PROB WAS CAUSED BY DISRUPTIVE PAX.
Narrative: PAX IN COACH APCHED FORWARD PART OF ACFT WHEN FO WAS OUT OF COCKPIT AND INSISTED THAT FO EXPLAIN BATHROOM/LAVATORY POLICY IMMEDIATELY. HE WAS AGITATED AND SPOKE IN LOUD VOICE FOR FIRST CLASS PAX BEHIND HIM TO HEAR. WAS ASKED 3 TIMES BY FO TO SIT DOWN AFTER EXPLAINING POLICY TO HIM. BUT HE (THE PAX) REMAINED BY COCKPIT, EXTREMELY UPSET. I KEPT MY HAND ON COFFEE POT READY TO THROW AT PAX IF HE CAME ANY CLOSER TO COCKPIT AREA OR MADE MOVE ON THE FO. VERY BELLIGERENT PAX BEHAVIOR! LATER, NOTICED ON PAPERWORK THAT PAX DID NOT GET HIS FIRST CLASS UPGRADE, SO PROBABLY BOARDED ACFT ALREADY UPSET. NOT HAVING SOME SORT OF DIVIDER BTWN FIRST CLASS AND COACH (WHERE CURTAIN USED TO BE) IS CAUSING MANY PROBS AS WELL AS HAVING ONLY 4 FLT ATTENDANTS WORKING FLT THIS LONG AND FULL! SHOULD'VE BEEN 5 FLT ATTENDANTS.
