Narrative:
I was on a long downwind approach looking for traffic to follow and was absorbed with how busy the approach and tower folks were with all the takeoffs and lndgs. I became distraction, to the point that not only did I forget to extend the landing gear, but also forgot to verify my landing checklist. A corrective action would be to consider requiring gear warnings to be wired into the headsets, as it worked, but I did not hear it with all the chatter and with headset on. Protect against distrs.
