Narrative:

Pct descended us to 2000 ft MSL and gave us a heading towards airport. Controller then asked if we had a visual on the airport. We answered yes and were then cleared for visual approach. We asked to cancel IFR and were granted cancellation. Then we squawked 1200 and contacted CTAF at anp. We were never once told of either an infraction or deviation in any manner. In fact, I asked the controller for the phone number to contact potomac approach on the ground for our departure clearance. When we contacted potomac 3 hours later, absolutely no mention was made to the matter of a tfr infraction. I only found out about this today from a registered letter.

Title: PLT OF PA28 FORGETS ABOUT DC ADIZ PROCS AND SQUAWKS 1200 AFTER CANCELING IFR INBOUND TO ANP.

Narrative: PCT DSNDED US TO 2000 FT MSL AND GAVE US A HDG TOWARDS ARPT. CTLR THEN ASKED IF WE HAD A VISUAL ON THE ARPT. WE ANSWERED YES AND WERE THEN CLRED FOR VISUAL APCH. WE ASKED TO CANCEL IFR AND WERE GRANTED CANCELLATION. THEN WE SQUAWKED 1200 AND CONTACTED CTAF AT ANP. WE WERE NEVER ONCE TOLD OF EITHER AN INFRACTION OR DEV IN ANY MANNER. IN FACT, I ASKED THE CTLR FOR THE PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT POTOMAC APCH ON THE GND FOR OUR DEP CLRNC. WHEN WE CONTACTED POTOMAC 3 HRS LATER, ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION WAS MADE TO THE MATTER OF A TFR INFRACTION. I ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS TODAY FROM A REGISTERED LETTER.
