Narrative:
On takeoff from runway 30L at hobby, received RA to descend shortly after takeoff due to tower controled traffic. Tower assigned a right turn to heading 130 degrees. Passing 1200 ft in a right turn, we got a TCASII traffic call, followed by an immediate descend RA. We leveled off about 1400 ft and never saw the traffic. When we told tower of the RA, they said that traffic had us in sight. Tower did not inform us of the traffic before takeoff. We must have come within a few hundred ft vertically and 1 mi horizontally. This situation put us in a very confusing situation with not enough altitude to react to the RA.

Title: MD80 DEP FROM HOU EXPERIENCED TCASII RA IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: ON TKOF FROM RWY 30L AT HOBBY, RECEIVED RA TO DSND SHORTLY AFTER TKOF DUE TO TWR CTLED TFC. TWR ASSIGNED A R TURN TO HDG 130 DEGS. PASSING 1200 FT IN A R TURN, WE GOT A TCASII TFC CALL, FOLLOWED BY AN IMMEDIATE DSND RA. WE LEVELED OFF ABOUT 1400 FT AND NEVER SAW THE TFC. WHEN WE TOLD TWR OF THE RA, THEY SAID THAT TFC HAD US IN SIGHT. TWR DID NOT INFORM US OF THE TFC BEFORE TKOF. WE MUST HAVE COME WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED FT VERTLY AND 1 MI HORIZLY. THIS SIT PUT US IN A VERY CONFUSING SIT WITH NOT ENOUGH ALT TO REACT TO THE RA.
