Narrative:
While flying VFR from perry-foley (40J) to arthur dunn (X21) I inadvertently entered a tfr zone north of orlando executive airport, orlando, fl. I had originally intended to fly the day before and checked duats website for WX and NOTAMS at that time. WX was forecast to be favorable and no significant NOTAMS listed. Employment circumstances delayed my flight until the following morning when the WX was still very good. Unfortunately the tfr had been posted later in the afternoon on mar/fri/04, after my briefing. My flight path took me approximately 5 mi into the restr area where I was intercepted by an F16 and escorted out of the area. Upon landing at arthur dunn I was instructed by the operator of the FBO to call orlando approach control, who had tracked my aircraft by radar to the airport. I called immediately and gave them the requested information. Normally I would have called WX-brief on my cell phone prior to departure. However, there was no cell service in perry. I realize the seriousness of this transgression and would not have violated the area had I been aware of the tfr. In the future I will use whatever means needed to obtain a current briefing.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LOW TIME PLT OF C150 FAILS TO RECEIVE TIMELY BRIEFING FOR XCOUNTRY FLT NEAR MCO. FLIES INTO NEWLY ESTABLISHED TFR.
Narrative: WHILE FLYING VFR FROM PERRY-FOLEY (40J) TO ARTHUR DUNN (X21) I INADVERTENTLY ENTERED A TFR ZONE N OF ORLANDO EXECUTIVE ARPT, ORLANDO, FL. I HAD ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO FLY THE DAY BEFORE AND CHKED DUATS WEBSITE FOR WX AND NOTAMS AT THAT TIME. WX WAS FORECAST TO BE FAVORABLE AND NO SIGNIFICANT NOTAMS LISTED. EMPLOYMENT CIRCUMSTANCES DELAYED MY FLT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MORNING WHEN THE WX WAS STILL VERY GOOD. UNFORTUNATELY THE TFR HAD BEEN POSTED LATER IN THE AFTERNOON ON MAR/FRI/04, AFTER MY BRIEFING. MY FLT PATH TOOK ME APPROX 5 MI INTO THE RESTR AREA WHERE I WAS INTERCEPTED BY AN F16 AND ESCORTED OUT OF THE AREA. UPON LNDG AT ARTHUR DUNN I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE OPERATOR OF THE FBO TO CALL ORLANDO APCH CTL, WHO HAD TRACKED MY ACFT BY RADAR TO THE ARPT. I CALLED IMMEDIATELY AND GAVE THEM THE REQUESTED INFO. NORMALLY I WOULD HAVE CALLED WX-BRIEF ON MY CELL PHONE PRIOR TO DEP. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO CELL SVC IN PERRY. I REALIZE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS TRANSGRESSION AND WOULD NOT HAVE VIOLATED THE AREA HAD I BEEN AWARE OF THE TFR. IN THE FUTURE I WILL USE WHATEVER MEANS NEEDED TO OBTAIN A CURRENT BRIEFING.
