Narrative:

After departing from runway 19R at sna on the musel 6 SID, I failed to fly heading 175 degrees, for radar vectors. Instead, I turned to follow the guidance information being provided by the flight director. Socal quickly noted our turn and corrective action was taken. This is a SID I have flown before, and was familiar with. My failure to properly fly the 175 degree heading, was due to an incomplete and rushed takeoff briefing, and a breakdown in CRM. Effective communication was hindered by tension between myself and the captain. This tension distraction me from fully focusing upon flying the aircraft. As a professional pilot I am expected to perform my duties with the same high level of proficiency and safety regardless of whether I get along with who I am flying with. But when conflict and tension in the cockpit cannot be resolved, and leads to distraction, safety is being compromised. It is time to swap crews. An employer should have a mechanism in place by which a pilot can report this situation to management without fear of jeopardizing their job.

AS A PROFESSIONAL PLT I AM EXPECTED TO PERFORM MY DUTIES WITH THE SAME HIGH LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY AND SAFETY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER I GET ALONG WITH WHO I AM FLYING WITH. BUT WHEN CONFLICT AND TENSION IN THE COCKPIT CANNOT BE RESOLVED, AND LEADS TO DISTR, SAFETY IS BEING COMPROMISED. IT IS TIME TO SWAP CREWS.
