Narrative:
Cleared for full procedure at leb, ILS runway 18 with procedure turn. We were expecting to be vectored for the ILS OM from the north. Instead, 3 mins out, they canceled radar services, cleared us below MSA to 5000 ft, and to ign (IAF). I had the PNF read off the procedure, because of the little amount of time to prepare. We had 1700 pounds of fuel, but I was still concerned about it. 1700 pounds is 1 hour plus for the LR55 in this situation. We flew outbound on the 318 degree radial off of ign to intercept the back course localizer. I lost situational awareness and decided to go missed, climbing on a 360 degree heading to 10000 ft. I was concerned about CFIT. The controller reprimanded me and told me someone could have been there! We then got vectors from the north to the montpelier IAF. I should have completed the published missed approach, but because of the recent events at leb and the terrain in the area, I decided to opt out the quickest way. Besides, I wanted to get back in radar and avoid holding at the white river NDB. This was my 6TH leg of the day. It sure would be nice if the area would pay for target radar, considering recent events and the amount of turbine operations in the area.
