Narrative:
This problem is a daily occurrence. Aircraft are routinely handed off to the wrong sector by automation. This problem is considered a 'normal procedure' when working south departure radar and a satellite arrival is attempting to enter the airspace from the center. The person working the south departure radar must redirect the handoff to the appropriate sector. During busy periods, this extra duty is unnecessary. To fix the problem, I believe we need a 'patch' in the ARTS to direct the satellite arrs to the appropriate sector.
