Narrative:
On apr/tue/04 I left daviess county airport for sullivan county airport. It was dark when I left and after 30 mins, I realized I must have been off course. I dialed in robinson (rsv) VOR and made 3 passes trying to find it. I flew on thinking surely I would find an airport soon. After 2 hours, I found ind airport, not knowing where I was. I landed unannounced. I may have failed to set the directional gyro on takeoff. I have limited experience in night flying. I have arranged for additional radio and navigation training, and night cross country training. I will refrain from cross country night flts until training is complete.
