Narrative:

During takeoff roll at V1, the right generator bus failed with an AC x-tie lockout light on. I rotated and turned to our assigned heading for WX avoidance. Initially, we were not aware of what the exact problem was. After seeing that all of the first officer's instruments were dark and we had lost our WX radar with cumulo nimbus in all quadrants, we declared an emergency and requested vectors around WX to land. I flew and talked to ATC while the first officer worked the AC x-tie lockout checklist. We accomplished some items before we abandoned it to concentrate on landing the aircraft. We landed safely and taxied to the gate where we briefed the mechanic.
