Narrative:
Descending through 17000 ft, right engine oil pressure light and EICAS message displayed. Reviewed QRH checklist. No engine response when advancing right thrust lever. Right engine pressure drops to red band, low pressure. Accomplish engine shutdown, declare emergency and perform single-engine approach and landing. Surface winds calm, but had 28 KT tailwind on final until last 1000 ft. It would have helped if ATC knew and advised us of strong tailwinds.
