Narrative:
Aircraft arrived by ferry flight into ZZZ. Slide was deployed at previous station. Replaced slide and door assist reservoir. Found reservoir was rii (required inspection item) 3 days later. Amt were in line room and one of amt asked if the reservoir was an rii check and found it was. Called tmc and had aircraft stopped for rii. When inspector arrived, he said this item had been added in last few months. If rii could be put in maintenance manual under removal and installation, this would make amt's aware of the rii. Also, if parts tag could be noted with a tag to check for possible rii, on parts that might be used in rii.
