Narrative:
Close formation with 3 nostalgic airplanes -- the stuff of dreams! Recovering out of a fighter strafe pattern at the air show, I left plenty of room between me and the descending aircraft because of my poor airbrakes (vice hydraulic). The tower advised minimum time on the runway due to an inbound aircraft in distress (student pilot). Hurrying (a very bad word) to make the turnoff at the end. The right brake faded due to heat and with the tailwheel, unlocked. The aircraft left the taxiway. I attempted a 'save' with power and only succeeded in blowing a taxiway light off with the propeller blast! A cheap lesson with no damage to a priceless aircraft. I know better and will remember haste makes waste! Fly your own machine.

Title: THE ATCT LCL CTLR ASKED AN AIR SHOW PLT TO VACATE THE RWY BECAUSE OF AN ACFT IN DISTRESS. DURING HIS ATTEMPT TO COMPLY, HAD A BRAKE OVERHEAT, AND HAD A RWY EXCURSION.
