Narrative:
Departed fat normally. At approximately 2000 ft MSL, received instructions from ATC to turn right to avoid cessna. Approximately 15 seconds later, received RA to descend. ATC gave a traffic call at the same time. Captain followed RA, and had target visually. I also saw target, converging with us. Cessna was given instructions to turn left. He complied. Situation was resolved shortly thereafter. I notified ATC that that was close. I also stated that, 'had he not turned, that could have been ugly.' he replied, 'roger.'

Title: DEPARTING FAT, DEP CTLR ISSUES TURNS TO MD80 FOR TFC AVOIDANCE, RESULTING IN A TCASII MANEUVER WITH A CONVERGING CESSNA.
Narrative: DEPARTED FAT NORMALLY. AT APPROX 2000 FT MSL, RECEIVED INSTRUCTIONS FROM ATC TO TURN R TO AVOID CESSNA. APPROX 15 SECONDS LATER, RECEIVED RA TO DSND. ATC GAVE A TFC CALL AT THE SAME TIME.
