Narrative:
Prior to departure, I went into operations and noticed that a ramp worker was smoking less than 25 ft away from our aircraft. I asked him politely to stop smoking and his reply was that jet fuel was not that flammable.

Title: AN ERJ CAPT NOTICES A RAMP WORKER SMOKING 25 FT FROM PARKED ACFT.
Narrative: PRIOR TO DEP, I WENT INTO OPS AND NOTICED THAT A RAMP WORKER WAS SMOKING LESS THAN 25 FT AWAY FROM OUR ACFT. I ASKED HIM POLITELY TO STOP SMOKING AND HIS REPLY WAS THAT JET FUEL WAS NOT THAT FLAMMABLE.
