Narrative:
When on the localizer, we selected gear down and we had an indication of the gear doors not closing. The doors will drag if not closed. We tried to cycle the gear with the same results. We went around and had approach call our company maintenance and do a relay with them. After some vectors and approximately 15 min fuel status was a concern the controller was advised that we needed to turn back to the airport. We started a left 360 degrees when we got the first of the low fuel lights. I had the PF turn the short way back to the right. It took a few moments to get in on the frequency and I told the controller we were bingo fuel. He cleared us to intercept the localizer. We used the emergency gear door close system to close the doors. To avoid having to make the short turn, we should have been even more informative about our fuel than we were. We had told them not to get us too far away from the airport. We arrived at the start of this with more than the required reserves.

Title: A BE40 FLT CREW GET LOW ON FUEL AS THEY ARE VECTORED TO SOLVE A GEAR DOOR PROB WHEN VECTORED TO LAS, NV.
Narrative: WHEN ON THE LOC, WE SELECTED GEAR DOWN AND WE HAD AN INDICATION OF THE GEAR DOORS NOT CLOSING. THE DOORS WILL DRAG IF NOT CLOSED. WE TRIED TO CYCLE THE GEAR WITH THE SAME RESULTS. WE WENT AROUND AND HAD APCH CALL OUR COMPANY MAINT AND DO A RELAY WITH THEM. AFTER SOME VECTORS AND APPROX 15 MIN FUEL STATUS WAS A CONCERN THE CTLR WAS ADVISED THAT WE NEEDED TO TURN BACK TO THE ARPT. WE STARTED A L 360 DEGS WHEN WE GOT THE FIRST OF THE LOW FUEL LIGHTS. I HAD THE PF TURN THE SHORT WAY BACK TO THE R. IT TOOK A FEW MOMENTS TO GET IN ON THE FREQ AND I TOLD THE CTLR WE WERE BINGO FUEL. HE CLRED US TO INTERCEPT THE LOC. WE USED THE EMER GEAR DOOR CLOSE SYS TO CLOSE THE DOORS. TO AVOID HAVING TO MAKE THE SHORT TURN, WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE INFORMATIVE ABOUT OUR FUEL THAN WE WERE. WE HAD TOLD THEM NOT TO GET US TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE ARPT. WE ARRIVED AT THE START OF THIS WITH MORE THAN THE REQUIRED RESERVES.
