Narrative:

Cruise flight directly east of cmh about 50 mi with #1 generator deferred at FL250, received 'APU oil pressure' message caution. First officer ran the QRH and it instructed us to land at nearest suitable airport. Dispatch and maintenance were called and agreed that cmh best for diversion. ATC advised of need for diversion. Began descent and then we were asked if we needed assistance. I then declared an emergency. The first officer picked up ATIS, talked to the flight attendant and passenger. Flight attendant also instructed passenger of our intentions. Continued to monitor APU gauges and saw no changes. All checklists complete. Trucks were called out and waiting along the runway. Landing was uneventful. Taxi to gate, parked, and the APU never shut down automatically like the QRH said it might. Customer service met us at the plane and passenger were unloaded and accommodations made.
