Narrative:
While taxiing east on taxiway H we were told to turn off taxiway H to taxiway a and continue to the gate. As we approached taxiway a there were no signs to indicate which taxiway it was. I continued through it slowly thinking the next intersection was taxiway a. I then realized that taxiway C was next and it was too late to make the turn still. We informed ATC of our error and he told us to continue via taxiway C. He said it happens quite often, and they are trying to get the D.O.D. To put signs up. Next time, I will ask when there is a question as to which taxiway we are on. Another aircraft also missed it today as I write this report. Same exact scenario and radio conversation between ATC and air carrier.
