Narrative:

Replaced autothrottle computer. Cockpit indication showed aircraft CAT ii aircraft should have been upgraded to CAT IIIA, placard was cleared because autothrottle tested good with new autothrottle computer, but no upgrade on CAT IIIA was performed. Aircraft remained catii. Maintenance control found that the aircraft was dispatched still in a catii mode and was not upgraded to CAT IIIA. Maintenance control replacarded the aircraft CAT status to CAT ii. CAT ii only. Although the aircraft CAT ii status was never upgraded, it was my responsibility to do so. The aircraft departed with incorrect information as to CAT ii status. Aircraft cockpit showed aircraft still in downgrade status while placard on logbook was removed.
