Narrative:
While climbing through FL340 cabin altitude horn sounded. Cabin altitude was climbing 1000 FPM. Notified ATC and began descent. Performed rapid decompression checklist and regained control of cabin in manual mode. Shortly thereafter flight attendant in aft galley reported smoke and strong odor in aft galley. I then declared an emergency and requested to land at nearest airport. Landed in oma without further incident. We were met on the ground by emergency equipment. Passenger were deplaned via forward airstair without incident.
