Narrative:
Flight was in cruise at FL290 approximately 30 mins into flight when the confign warning horn sounded. Verified that confign was normal and pressurization was normal. Captain disconnected and re-engaged the autoplt while I located the aural warning circuit breaker (not pulled). Rechked pressurization and now noted cabin pressure above 10000 ft and climbing, followed quickly by automatic fail and standby lights and passenger oxygen light. Accomplished QRH checklist, attempting standby mode and then manual mode, to stabilize cabin pressure while descending to FL210. No emergency declared and continued to bna. Flight attendants verified oxygen masks had dropped, passenger were advised situation was stabilized.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AFTER CABIN PRESSURE WENT ABOVE 10000 FT, THE FLT CREW OF A B737 DSNDED TO LOWER ALT WHERE THE CABIN PRESSURE WAS RESTORED IN MANUAL MODE WHILE ON FREQ WITH ZME, TN.
Narrative: FLT WAS IN CRUISE AT FL290 APPROX 30 MINS INTO FLT WHEN THE CONFIGN WARNING HORN SOUNDED. VERIFIED THAT CONFIGN WAS NORMAL AND PRESSURIZATION WAS NORMAL. CAPT DISCONNECTED AND RE-ENGAGED THE AUTOPLT WHILE I LOCATED THE AURAL WARNING CIRCUIT BREAKER (NOT PULLED). RECHKED PRESSURIZATION AND NOW NOTED CABIN PRESSURE ABOVE 10000 FT AND CLBING, FOLLOWED QUICKLY BY AUTO FAIL AND STANDBY LIGHTS AND PAX OXYGEN LIGHT. ACCOMPLISHED QRH CHKLIST, ATTEMPTING STANDBY MODE AND THEN MANUAL MODE, TO STABILIZE CABIN PRESSURE WHILE DSNDING TO FL210. NO EMER DECLARED AND CONTINUED TO BNA. FLT ATTENDANTS VERIFIED OXYGEN MASKS HAD DROPPED, PAX WERE ADVISED SIT WAS STABILIZED.
