Narrative:
On walkaround a crew member spotted FOD to the #2 engine, lp fan blade 21. The damage fell under the description of a bend. I misinterped the maintenance manual and determined the damage was within allowable limits, and released the aircraft. Engineering later recalculated my figures and determined the damage was outside allowable limits. The aircraft was stopped at the next station and the blade was replaced.
