Narrative:
Vectored to final, encountered aircraft ahead at 5 mi, wake turbulence. Approach slowed us to 160 KTS, then vectored a company B737 between us and the previous aircraft. We had previously called the airport in sight. Approach called the traffic at '3 mi,' TCASII showed the traffic at about 2.1 mi. I repeated that we had the airport in sight. His response was either I call the traffic or he would break us out. He turned traffic in front of us without proper spacing, we either covered his mistake or we don't get to land. We called traffic and went to final approach speed with slight s-turn.
